I’ve talked about inspiration before, so I won’t get too in depth about that. Today, I’m leaning into one particular place where some ideas originate: dreams.

My experience with dream based ideas is, I believe, really unique. I’d love to know if anyone’s had similar experiences, though, so feel free to let me know in the comments afterwards!

Before I get into the unique thing, I’ve had what I’d refer to as a few little glimpses of ideas, just story bits. These are usually only a scene, or a glimpse. One I’ve had before was about a boy hiding in a drain, and waking up in a puddle of water. His father was angry over something, and smacked him. This turned into my story, Rom and Yuli!

There’s more than just glimpse dreams. I also have full story dreams. These are unique in that, it seems to have nothing to do with my own subconsciousness. They are quite literally stories, about different worlds and characters, gully developed. They even tell me their titles! Yes, I’m serious. While I have yet to bring one of these fully to life, I do write them down immediately, as I believe them to be gifts from the universe. I won’t go into details but I have several like this in my list of plot bunnies.

I would love to know if anyone else has experienced this phenomenon! I find it endlessly fascinating.
